Not attaching so much importance to myself
We are happy that Tine (assistant to director Buck) tells us about her experience that she gained in Cambodia:
experience in cambodia
never went to asia before, it was such a great experience. never felt like this before - at day offs i found calmness in myself. the shooting days were sometimes hard and difficult, especially in wide shots with lots of people, smile all the asian crew were great, friendly and helpful. in the beginning we always talked about a small german crew where everybody does everything, but it wasn't like that. For that style of work we were to many people. sometimes i felt like getting lost, but there was always an asian helping hand or Kirstin Wille at the production office or the beautiful accountings who did a great job by paying all the Extras (a lot of them). THANK YOU!
spending time in this little universe was a fu…ing great adventure

Tells us about your experiences shooting in Cambodia!
Pnomh Penh is a lovely and in a nice way unspoiled city. Probably one of the last capitals in the world where you can’t find a mcdonalds restaurant which makes it even more charming. Dirty and dusty but you think you could stay forever. The people, open-minded, helpful and curious, always smiling but still very interesting themselves with probably the most beautiful children on this planet.
Sometimes it’s very hard to connect the present to the past here, but just as hard to separate them, when history rears its ugly head.
If I would have to pick a country where I believe something like the khmer-rouge nightmare took place by judging the people it would never ever be Cambodia. -
Getting to work, shooting, travelling, hanging around, just spending time in this little universe was a fu…ing great adventure, not the easiest place to record a clean soundtrack, though… ;-)

Tells us about your experiences shooting in Cambodia!
My stay in Cambodia was too short and unfortunately not that much time for discovery of people and country. As i stayed most of the time in the office to prepare costumes.
The first impression and feeling I had was, that there were so many
similarities to my country ERITREA. The mentality, politness among young and older people, etc. which i barely see in Germany... I will try to answer the questions
as a german-eritrean/ eritrean-german.
