"Soksabai Chaul Chnam Thmei" say Cambodians when they wish you a happy New Year. Literally translated it means that they welcome the spirit of the new year. Actually the Khmer New Year is celebrated in mid April, yet the New Year according to the Gregorian calendar is seen as an opportunity to celebrate the New Year twice – and why not?
After such a wonderful wrap party the night before the team got together for a relaxing New Year's Eve dinner at the Titanic Restaurant on the banks of the Tonle Sap River. Due to heavy rains the fireworks were cancelled and many consulted the local watering holes instead of welcoming the new year outside. The following morning the skies were clear again and after a breathtaking "GOOD MORNING CAMBODIAAAA" outburst of Claus the German team left for Kuala Lumpur. Many looking back with great fondness on six wonderful weeks of shooting in Cambodia.
