I really can speak only of the very last part of last day shooting in SouthEast Asia. I was on duty on another, Loveline accompanying, program called Hateline.
Last day of shooting with Apinya. Shortly after I arrived the last slate for Apinya was hit.
Camera wrapped, it was for the sound, wild track, that the rest remained in the lobby, which could be called a lobby for several reasons. A far away ceiling, illuminated by a huge chandelier, gracious emptiness, the floor pure blackness.
Unfortunately mon cher ami Marc was not present to capture the picture. He is off to Phnom Penh. The other day starts his shoot on the Khmer Rouge Tribunal, which will soon begin. He will be for four days in the jungle, with no internetaccess. We try to manage on Loveline till his return. Marc Eberle makes documentaries, his work at Loveline is just an obligation.
Daniel Veltroni walked with Wiebke and the multicultural group of traveller journalists down the hall, back and forth. And that was it.
Everyone gathered in the lobby, Detlev greeted Apinya, Anatole and Mary, Claus did the same with the Malaysian crew. David walks over to his co-star and hands over a bouquet of beautiful pink roses. It was a moment of silence.
Shutteled to the Ritz Carlton, people went to the breakfast room, possibly to the pool, to their rooms, some together having a night cup. The soundmen, director and the actors went to the production office doing “ With the Hands” with Mary, and other stuff..
Tonight the drinks are on the camera department.

I was just wondering if the movie was going to be released in the United States. And if it is, will it be in English or German? I'd love it if it was in English, i don't like watching dubbed movies.
And if it does come out in America, when would that be? How much longer after it's released in Germany? And, would it be in theaters?

I just want to say that I'm really looking forward to see this film. I love David Kross very much and no need for me to say that he is a really talented young actor and would hope to see him make more american films.
Just one suggestion - the blogger knows the crew and actors very well. But as readers such as myself, either than that I recognize names of David Kross, Detlev Buck and now the leading actress Apinya, everyone else's names just does mean anything (no offense). Perhaps a few words (what role he/she plays), a picture to introduce these people to us would make reading this blog a more enjoyable experience.
BTW, more stories and interviews with David are always welcome!

The movie has been shot in German and English. The German backpackers speak German and the Cambodians and foreign backpackers speak English. The movie will be released in Germany in German. Please keep an eye on this blog, we will keep you updated with information on theatrical releases in other countries.
I'm a big fan of David Kross after seeing him in the Reader. Very glad to have found this site! Isn't he up for the Critics' choice award tonight, 8 Jan? I so hope he would make the trip. It doesn't sound he will if he's still in Cambodia shooting this film. He was so perfect in the Reader. I can't wait to see this film. Is this film in English?
