Most of the team hit off at 6.15, either going directly to Germany, or via Bangkok, throwing a last glimpse at life in Southeast Asia.
Director and dop (director of photography) went together shopping, as well as 1st ad (assistant director) and pa (production assistant) to the Line producer, at the Pavillon. Producer and line producer had lunch together with the guys running biscuitfilm, the Malaysian service production, talking about a future production called “The Guys”.
A crimecaper to be shot within 24 days, a direct to dvd title, with a chance of a theatrical release in selected territories. To be shot possibly in one years time. Nothing more leaked out of the conversation.
Loveline also closed down offices, and will open up a European branch, first to be located in Berlin. Last to leave the Ritz Carlton was as usual Anatole. He had spent the day at the building. That’s how life is in KL, you stay in the building, everything on hand, shops, restaurants, gym, pool. You leave only to go into another building offering either different brands or the concept is different, like that one of the …Palace. No one walks through the streets, very moderate traffic, only few street kitchens. Completely different from Phnom Penh, all the life on the streets. And also Bangkok, a vast city, loud with heavy traffic, lots of people in the streets and on the various markets. On the other hand KL is a city literally placed in the woods. Zaidi, the personal butler, bikes the 10 km to his home, and on the weekend he goes up the mountains surrounding KL.,In the evening KL offers the guest of the Ritz Carlton, and this is the same for any other inhabitant of one of the buildings, really nice views of an illuminated city in the green.
The same goes for the airport, a forty five minutes drive on an empty highway through endless plantations, nicely located and airy not at all crowded, - building. Heading towards Europe.
