Education is important- Help Cambodian Children!

Cambodia's Children Education Fund , a non-profit organization, provides scholarships to impoverished and orphaned Cambodian students for attendance at exceptional schools. By providing educational opportunities to students who otherwise cannot go to school, CCEdFund is rebuilding a professional class of leaders. After completing school, the students contribute to the peaceful social, economic, and political development of Cambodia by working in the public interest for at least two years. Believing that providing educational opportunities is one of the best ways to help people, CCEdFund is helping to rebuild what was destroyed in Cambodia's recent violent past.

Jennifer and Carrie founded CCEdFund in 2007 after two trips to Cambodia with Teacher Across Borders. While there, they saw children on the streets struggling to survive and realized that they could affect positive change simply by sending some of these children to school. So, they created CCEdFund to connect donors with students who have enormous potential to improve the world.

Currently, CCEdFund send 4 students to school: Vatey, Somalin, Kosal, and Raksa. The progress the students make each year is astonishing and inspiring. While Somalin ran from Carrie and Jennifer when she met them at 2 years old, this year she ran to them and greeted them in English! All of CCEdFund's students attend an international school in Siem Reap where they are in classes with fewer than 10 students per teacher.

How does CCEdFund work? CCEdFund partners with NGOs and the best schools in the Cambodia. The NGOs provide a safe home, food, and health care to students so that they don't have to work. Then, CCEdFund sends the students to exceptional schools that agree to help CCEdFund monitor the students' progress. CCEdFund avoid problems by paying tuition directly to the schools, which give us reduced tuition rates and send us frequent updates on our students.
